The Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics at York University will host the 48th Linguistic Symposium on Romance Languages (LSRL 48) from April 25-28, 2018.
The theme of the conference is Points of Convergence in Romance Linguistics, which aims to capture the fact that all the major areas of linguistics (e.g. morphology, syntax, semantics, phonology, sociolinguistics, first and second language acquisition) will be represented through research on different Romance languages.
In addition to the main session, consisting of oral presentations and two poster sessions, LSRL 48 will feature a special workshop on Romance Diachrony at the Interfaces, which will focus on generative syntactic interfaces with morphology, semantics, and pragmatics in Romance historical linguistics.
Invited speakers:
April 25: | Workshop: Romance Diachrony at the Interfaces Ian Roberts (University of Cambridge, UK) |
April 26-28: | Main session: Points of Convergence in Romance Linguistics Julie Auger (Indiana University, USA) Angelica Hernandez (PhD student, University of Western Ontario, Canada) Daniela Isac (Concordia University, Canada) Giuseppe Longobardi (University of York, UK) Ana Teresa Pérez-Leroux (University of Toronto, Canada) |
